We install and wire security systems for homes and businesses across Christchurch: alarms, cameras, intercoms, access control and gate automation.

Because we are electricians, the cabling gets done properly at the same time as the rest of the electrical work, rather than run on the surface afterwards by someone who only does security.

Cameras

The question that matters with cameras is not how many megapixels. It is whether the footage will actually identify someone at the distance and the light level you need it to. A camera covering a whole yard will show you that something happened. A camera at head height on the gate will show you who.

We work through the coverage first, then the hardware. Wired cameras over network cable where we can, because the picture is better and there are no batteries to replace, and wireless only where cable genuinely cannot go.

Footage recorded to a local recorder you own, with remote viewing on a phone. Cloud subscriptions optional rather than compulsory.

Alarms

Sensor placement does more for an alarm than the panel does. We look at how the building is actually used, where someone would realistically get in, and where a pet is going to set it off at two in the morning.

Monitored or self-monitored, both work. Self-monitored suits a lot of homes and small businesses and costs nothing a month.

Access control and intercoms

Keypad, fob or app entry for gates, doors and shared entrances. For rentals, shared driveways and small commercial sites this removes the problem of keys that never come back.

We install and service gate automation, and can integrate entry with cameras so you can see who is at the gate before you let them in.

Doing it with the rest of the job

If you are building or renovating, get the security cabling in at the same time as the electrical. Camera positions, an alarm panel location, a power point in the right place and cable to the gate cost almost nothing before the linings go on.

We often run security together with home automation so the two systems work with each other rather than separately.
